“Be present in all things and thankful for all things.” — Maya Angelou

This Monday’s list is dedicated to prepping you for your Thanksgiving week, and that is something to be thankful for.

What We’re Listening To

The Minimalists

We Get It: The ride home to your in-laws’ is going to be long. Here’s a podcast for the ride there from Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus about living a more meaningful life with less.

Episode That Hooked Us: 142 | Anxiety, July 24, 2018

Our Favorite Minimalists Quote: “Black coffee is a synecdoche for life: when you eliminate the excess—when you deliberately avoid life’s empty calories—what remains is exponentially more delicious, more enjoyable, more worthwhile.”

What We’re Sending

Our Best Out-of-Office Messages

Something Fun for Taking a Break: We’re over the boring OOO messages this holiday season. Let’s try for something more snazzy. Our favorite picks.

Message 1: Gone Fishing.

Message 2: I am on annual leave until dd/mm/yyyy. I will allow each sender one email and if you send me multiple emails, I will randomly delete your emails until there is only one remaining. Choose wisely. Please note that you have already sent me one email.

Message 3: I’ll be 1 percent connected while on vacation so I’m not 100 percent panicked on return.

How We’re Giving

Feeding America

Why We Love It: Just type in your state and zip code, and they’ll give you your nearest food bank.

The Stats: 51% of all food programs rely entirely on volunteers. Skip the Black Friday shopping this year, and donate your time to one of your local food banks.

Do It Together: Most food banks across the US can host up to 50 volunteers. Make it a group effort and pose it to your office as your next big community outreach.
