What We’re Wearing

Rent The Runway

Good for the environment and your wallet: Lydia is in month four of our Rent The Runway experiment. The result? We don’t understand why everyone isn’t a customer.

Goodbye guilt: Forget coveting that dress you’ll wear once or those shoes that are a month’s rent. With two plans to choose from, RTR has something for everyone. Lydia has been on the Unlimited Plan and is swapping out about two items a week — from a gorgeous Furla black leather purse (retail $448) to a Carven black pleated midi skirt (retail $790) paired with a funky tank top from H&M (purchased for $11), RTR is on track to save money, expand a wardrobe, and prevent clothes that never get worn from finding their way into the landfill.

What We’re Learning (Online)

Coursera

Because we can, and should: We’ve been reading a lot about how AI is going to take over everyone’s jobs, and the world, but we had questions.

Computer + PJs = New Classroom: AI For Everyone is free (yes free, or you can pay $49 to earn a certificate of completion) and offers the basics of AI and machine learning. AI not for you? No problem. Coursera has thousands of courses to choose from. From the website: Top instructors teach every course on Coursera from the world’s best universities and educational institutions. Courses include recorded video lectures, auto-graded and peer-reviewed assignments, and community discussion forums. When you complete a class, you’ll receive a sharable electronic Course Certificate. Sure, you could binge watch The Good Place tonight. Or maybe we can interest you in Introduction to Typography by California Institute of the Arts or Introduction to Psychology by Yale University? Remember, working your mind is good for work body and work soul.

What We’re Taking

Reformer Class

What It Is: A full body workout on a machine that resembles a massage table and works like magic. Did we want to cry midway through? Sort of. It’s hard work. But boy did we feel good about ourselves afterwards.

Why We Love It: You’ll find muscles you never knew existed. It’s an absolute full body experience.

Where We Went: Just like our TRX Class from Workweller Lauren Chiarello, NYC’s Flex Studios offers Reformer classes that will kick your tush into shape and get those endorphins pumping for your workday.
