“You might get run over; you might get hit by lightning. I mean, who knows? Each day, there is a chance you might die. And there's nothing wrong with that. Every living being on Earth is facing that same existential rift.” ― Alex Honnold

What We’re Watching

Free Solo

Worth the hype? Yes. Yes. A thousand times yes. An Academy Award winning NatGeo doc, Free Solo follows Alex Honnold’s climb of El Capitan – rope free. Just a man and his chalk pack. Insane? Perhaps. Inspiring? Oh yes.

How is this work related? You could die tomorrow. Live every second to the fullest. In the words of Honnold, “My comfort zone is like a little bubble around me, and I've pushed it in different directions and made it bigger and bigger until these objectives that seem totally crazy eventually fall within the realm of the possible.” How can you stretch your realm of possibility at work today, tomorrow, and all the days that follow? Now go do the damn thing.

What We’re Listening To

Self Soul Sport Podcast

It’s Workweller made! Say what?! Workweller Shanna Tyler created the Self Soul Sport podcast to empower women, share her personal journey, and share the stories of other #girlbosses. Give this one a listen (she didn’t even bribe us to write about it – that’s how good it is).

Episode that hooked us: The Importance of Non-Negotiables in Your Lifestyle and What I Do NOT Negotiate

Favorite Quote: “When you say ‘no’, it feels so good… When you set and stick to your non-negotiable, you’re increasing your self-love. You’re saying ‘I am important. My time is important.’” So. Much. Yes. Thank you Shanna.

How We’re Working Out

#MaceFlow

New workout – who this? Have you heard of Mace Flow? We hadn’t either. A simple search on Instagram will show you all the workout influencers getting into the buzz of this workout that’s not actually new. It’s been around for 2,000 plus years as a training tool for warriors and wrestlers.

Get to work! You can get a high quality steel mace online for less than $30. Aside from looking like a total badass, a steel mace workout helps with balance, stability, and creativity (as you can consistently change up your workout.
