“As humans, we are often ruled by our cognitive biases. So, with present bias, the counteractive behavior that we’re cognitively programmed to engage in is because we perceive our future selves the same way we perceive total strangers. Yes, the truth is that you are not good at seeing your future self because that ‘person’ is a stranger to you. So much for ‘know thyself’.” — Lydia Loizides, Be Good to Your Future Self
A very special Monday list brought to you after reading about our future selves and feeling a little guilty.
What We’re Using
What It Does: FaceApp is a photo editing app that uses AI and a photo of you (or anyone; if you want to traumatize someone in your life, we don’t judge) to change your hair, gender, or age. If you’ve ever wondered what you’d look like with bangs, this is the app for you.
Why It Freaks Us Out: We’re not sure what you look like 50 years in the future, but with this app, we know what we do. If you don’t like what you see, well then it may be time to change your ways. We vow to be kinder to our future selves.
What We Look Like in 50 Years: You wish! That’s certainly not something you want to see, hence why we’re working out and eating healthy with these next two tries from this week!
What We’re Listening To

What We’re Eating
Chobani’s “A Hint of Flavor”
Our Favorite Flavor: Clingstone Peach. Nothing like a little peach in autumn. Yes please.
The Facts: 12 grams of protein. 9 grams of sugar. 120 calories.
Why We’ll Take These Over Flips: Chobani Flips (though so our guilty pleasure) have 150 plus calories and a minimum of 15 grams of sugar. The Blueberry B-Fast? 15 grams of sugar. The Coffee Brownie Bliss? 20 grams. We’ll stick with our hint of flavor — the Lacroix of yogurts.
