What We’re Scrubbing With

Rituals Cosmetics

Why Rituals: As far as skincare goes, these products make the top of our list. Besides the obvious (their products smell ah-mazing and your colleagues will compliment you), Rituals cares for the environment, offering “eco-chic” refills to reduce their carbon footprint; they hope to have 100% recyclable packaging on all of their products by 2023. Their code of conduct ensures “no child-labor, no discrimination, guaranteed salaries, safe working conditions and [a] shared commitment to a clean and safe environment.” P.S. They’re running a sale with products up to 50% off right now.

Their Mission Statement: Rituals helps you slow down, to find happiness in the smallest of things.

Our Favorite Products: The Ritual of Happy Buddha Body Scrub. The Ritual of Sakura Body Cream. The Ritual of Happy Buddha Foaming Shower Gel.

What We’re Trying

Auto Belaying

What it is: For anyone that’s ever gone rock climbing, belaying refers to the technique in which someone holds tension to the rope while you climb to the top of the rock wall and trust your whole life with (typically) a stranger you’ve just met. The auto belay takes care of that, as it takes up the slack for you as you climb, without the need for human trust – what is that?!

Why We Love It: It gives you just the right amount of tension. For beginners, this is one of the greatest inventions ever made in our humble opinion.

As a Bonus: It’s so good for your lats, your calves, your forearms, and your biceps. You’ll feel muscles you may have never known you had the next day.

What We’re Doing

Why We’re Using It: Instead of “let’s go for drinks after work”, try something new with Eventbrite. Here are some of the things we did this past week.

Slam Poetry: Much easier to find if you’re in the city. Entirely worth it. Snaps for that.

The Opera: Tickets to the opera aren’t always affordable, but you’d be surprised at what you can snag. A simple search just found us $10 tickets. That’s less than the cost of your martini.

Wellness Seminars: We found our friends from Viva Wellness on Eventbrite this week and went to their awesome workshop “Fit From Within, Wellness Isn’t Just Physical”. The best part? It was completely free.
