“It's Christmas Eve. It's the one night of the year when we all act a little nicer, we smile a little easier, we cheer a little more. For a couple of hours out of the whole year we are the people that we always hoped we would be.” - Frank Cross, Scrooged

What We’re Not Doing

Checking Our Emails

We Know It’s Tempting: In an effort to keep up with your work (or avoid your family) during the holidays, you might be itching to log into your Outlook. Whatever you do, refrain. This is a time to unplug, relax, and enjoy life in real time.

You’ve Done the Prep Work: Your Out-of-Office autoresponder is on. Your notifications are off (if not, they should be). You’ve hopefully scheduled a buffer day for when you get back. You’re ready to unplug. Go forth and prosper.

What We’re Doing Instead: Preparing one of these delicious salads to balance out the holiday sweets.

Where We’re Going

The Great Outdoors

Why We’re Going: We’ve been stuffing our faces for the last month. And if you haven’t, we have, and you have far more self-control than us. We need to throw some cardio in there. Take a break from crashing in front of the tv, and enjoy a walk outdoors – even if you do have to bundle up A Christmas Story style. “I can’t put my arms down!”

When We’re Going: After all that holiday dinner. Word on the street is that just fifteen minutes of moderate exercise post-meal aids in digestion. Studies show that a walk is better for you than an alcoholic digestif. You can save the booze for the spiked eggnog later tonight.

What’s On Our List for Next Year: It might be too late to add anything to the presents list for this year, but if someone needs a VERY last minute gift idea, tell them to buy you one of these walking shoes.

What We’re Feeling

Grateful

For All of You: Thank you for a great start to Hello Workwell. We appreciate you and your support and for loving our 9-5er (and 5-9er) inspiration. We raise a toast to a wonderful first season and (hopefully) many more to come.

If You Have the Day Off: Be thankful for this time you get to spend with friends and family. Enjoy your holiday. Be extra kind to those that have to work today.

If You’re Stuck at Work: We wish you didn’t have to work either, but we hope you’ve scheduled out some time this week to see your people. If not, do that now! You deserve it.
